The optical inherent fail safe switch comprises optical heavy duty switches (9), which are controlled by combinational logic (3). Operating and application software is provided, which is explicitly waived on the microprocessors and oscillators. A firmware is provided for security and reliability reasons. The power line change over (4) is triggered by a potential separated external transistor transistor logic signal. The power line change over takes place typically in less than 1 microsecond.
