The reversible device has a spring element (3) which is connected with a safety belt (2). A pretensioning device (4) is connected with the spring element and is in position for pretensioning the spring element and a detent device (5). The detent device is constructed to release the spring element in a danger situation, so that the pretensioned spring element is slackened and moves the safety belt over a predetermined path (W) for tightening the safety belt.
