The arrangement (1) has two sensor axes, along which transmission light beams (3a-3c) emitted by transmitters (2a-2c) are guided. Objects (6) moved with the sensor axes in an object movement direction are detected. The sensor axes are arranged one behind the other in the object movement direction and run transverse to the object movement direction. Third sensor axis runs in an angle of inclination to the two sensor axes. Signals are generated with the sensor axes in an evaluation unit (8). An object determination signal is generated using the signals in the evaluation unit.
