The device is provided for navigating a ship (10) in the ocean (11) or sea. The ship is driven by the electric energy through a kite cluster (12) that moves the ship in water. The hydrogen is produced from the electrolysis of water by more than 90 percent of the generated electric energy. A supply device provides more than 90 percent of the generated energy to the land-based electrical network in the sea. An independent claim is included for a method for using wind energy.
