Exhaust gas after-treatment device operating method, involves triggering regeneration stage by selectively considering standard state variable based on aging state of nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter
The method involves storing nitrogen oxide of exhaust gas supplied from an internal combustion engine, and selectively catalyzing and reducing the nitrogen oxide of the exhaust gas supplied to a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic converter. A regeneration stage is triggered based on a state variable value and state characteristic of an exhaust gas after-treatment device. The regeneration stage is triggered by selectively considering a standard state variable based on an aging state of a nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter. An independent claim is also included for an exhaust gas after-treatment device comprising a nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic converter.
