The cross bracing structure (1) comprises two cross beams (4) with an upward opening guiding contour which extends from a B-column (2) of a vehicle to a transmission tunnel (3) running in a vehicle longitudinal direction. A cross bracing element (5) running parallel to each cross beam is guided in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The cross bracing element is fastened to the adjacent B-column over a deformed crash console (7) with a saddle contour.
