The frame (1) has a storage unit electronically storing digital image data. A microprocessor unit reads the stored data and displays the data on a thin film transistor display (2). An accumulator i.e. rechargeable battery, supplies electronic components with an electric energy. An output signal of a light sensor (4) is fed to the microprocessor unit. A photoelectric element (5) i.e. solar cell, converts an ambient light into the energy of the accumulator. The microprocessor unit disconnects the display when the ambient light exceeds an intermediate value stored in the microprocessor unit.
