The device has a buffering unit (19) with buffering rollers (20, 21) arranged in a functional unit (FE) i.e. rotation buffer, and buffering a printed web (10). The buffering unit is movable around a conditioning roller (18) for accommodating the printed web. An angle of contact of the printed web is fixed around the conditioning roller by a position of the buffer unit. The buffer unit is rotatably mounted on a bearing axis such that the buffer unit is movable around the conditioning roller. A maximum value of the angle of contact is approximately 250 degree Celsius.
