The switch i.e. circuit breaker (10), has a latch (12) including a latching point (25) on which a thermal actuator i.e. thermo bimetal (16), acts via a U-shaped clamp (17). The point is released during bending out of the actuator caused by over-current, so that a contact point is maintained open. The clamp is provided with an effective length adapted to a reference actuating process during the over-current, for achieving adjustment of coupling of the actuator. The length of the clamp between the actuator and the latching point is adjustable by plastic deformation of the clamp. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting coupling of a thermal actuator.
