The method involves overlapping a part of an operating menu by a part of another operating menu by contacting with a region of an input device and by pre-flattening on the region. The part of the latter menu appears below the part of the former menu. Enlargement of the operating menu is implemented. An actuation for displaying the latter menu takes place by scrolling. The menus are represented on pages, which are provided with graphical representation. Additional information about the former menu is included in the latter menu. A display (5) e.g. Touch screen, is provided in a display device. An independent claim is also included for a cooking device, comprising a control device.
