The device has microwave dryers (18) which emit electromagnetic radiation and are arranged on the surface of three rollers contained in an inking system. One of the rollers is seen from the ink reservoir, which stays in contact with more than two rollers of the inking system or another roller arranged between the former roller and the inking system. The electromagnetic radiation emitted by the microwave dryer has a wavelength between 1 millimeter and 1 meter. An independent claim is included for a method for removing fountain solution from an inking system of a printing unit of a printing machine.
