The braiding devices are rotatable around rotational axes (D1-D3) and/or movable transverse to the conveying direction, where the rotational axis runs perpendicular to the direction. The core is formed as a single piece or multi-piece from soluble material such as foam material. An independent claim is also included for a method for braiding a braided core.
