The ball cock (50) has housing (51) and a ball plug (1) which is supported in the housing in a rotating manner. Two flow directions (57,58) are provided in opposite direction to each other. The ball cock flows in one flow direction, when the ball cock is blocked in other flow direction. The ball cock flows in the latter flow direction, when the ball cock is blocked in the former flow direction. The ball cock is also blocked in both the flow directions. An independent claim is included for a ball plug for inserting in a ball cock.
