The method involves forming a differential voltage (Udiff2) from an amplified voltage (UA1) to be less than another amplified voltage (Us) or forming the differential voltage from the latter amplified voltage to be less than the former amplified voltage. A voltage is formed as a reference voltage (Ur), and another voltage is formed as a sum voltage from the reference voltage and an electrical voltage (Ut). The latter voltage is formed as the differential voltage of the reference voltage and the electrical voltage. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring a thermo-electric voltage.
