The axial piston machine has a control plate (9) and a rotary cylinder drum (3). The cylinder drum with a sliding surface (11) slides on another sliding surface (12) of the control plate. One of the sliding surfaces has an adhesive layer (19) and an external layer (17). A supporting layer (18) is arranged between the adhesive layer and the external layer. The external layer is a carbon-containing layer or a plastic film. The supporting layer consists of nitride material of the adhesive layer. The supporting layer is made from chromium nitride and the adhesive layer is made from chromium.
