The device has a control valve (3) supplying fluid i.e. hydraulic medium, to a phase adjuster (1) via an inlet (2), and a check valve (22) arranged in the inlet. The valve has a sealing seat (23) that is formed at a channel section. The valve is formed by a retaining body that extends into the channel section, and includes two leaf-shaped valve units (24) that co-operates with the sealing seat. The leaf-shaped valve units are fastened to the retaining body at one side and arranged on opposite sides of the retaining body. The valve units are made of spring steel or fiber-reinforced plastic.
