The device has housings, whose primary housing part (1) comprises a channel with an inlet opening for a gaseous medium. A detector for providing information about a sterilization process is arranged in an indicator chamber. The channel in the housing part is formed as a gutter and is closed by a seal such that an end area of the channel is in connection with the indicator chamber by a passage opening in the seal. The gutter is provided with a closeable inlet opening.
