The gearbox casing (27) has a base module which has an interface for fastening an electric motor (12). Receptacles are provided for gear wheels, which are suitable for transferring a driving torque of the electric motor on movable compression elements (16). An extension module forms a common complete receptacle together with the base module for a gear wheel. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an electric pump.
