The device (10) has a heat storage container (12) partially filled with heat storage medium i.e. paraffin, and a heat exchanger cylinder (14) partially surrounded by the heat storage medium. A stirring device is rotatably arranged in the container, where a rotational axis (R) of the stirring device coincides with a cylinder axis (Z) of the heat exchanger cylinder. The stirring device is formed as a scraping device (16) that scraps the heat storage medium frozen at a surface of the cylinder. The cylinder is selectively controllable by a valve arrangement.
