A binder removal and sintering method for powder metallurgically prepared products (A) involves introducing (A) successively into first and second main treatment chambers, for binder removal and sintering respectively. (A) is (semi)continuously passed through each chamber under heating to the binder removal or sintering temperature, while continuously circulating process gas. A binder removal and sintering method for powder metallurgically prepared products (A) involves (a) introducing (A) into a first main treatment chamber for binder removal, (b) (semi)continuously passing (A) through this chamber under heating to the binder removal temperature while continuously circulating process gas, (c) transferring (A) from this chamber into a second main treatment chamber for binder removal, (d) (semi)continuously passing (A) through this chamber under heating to the sintering temperature while continuously circulating process gas and (e) removing sintered (A) from the chamber. An independent claim is included for apparatus for carrying out the process, comprising a first main treatment chamber (21), with heating and gas circulation systems (2, 3), for binder removal; a second, downstream main treatment chamber (13), with heating and gas circulation systems (14), for sintering; and transporters for passing (A) through and between the main treatment chambers.
