The arrangement has a primary coil (41) inductively coupled to a secondary coil (40) provided in an electrically operable motor vehicle. The primary coil is accommodated in a unit, which is in a form of a pump pistol for refueling of the vehicle with a petrol engine. The primary coil has a cylindrical outer form, where axial length of the cylindrical outer form exceeds double of diameter of the cylindrical outer form. The unit includes a retaining bracket, which is attached to a housing part of the unit, at which the tap-like formed primary coil is attached. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an arrangement for charging an energy storage of an electrically operable vehicle.
