The method involves introducing oxygen as an oxygen carrier into a waste body by hydrogen peroxide dissolved in water. Concentration of the hydrogen peroxide solution amounts to more than 5 percent of mass and less than 20 percent of mass. An aqueous solution such as landfill leachate or landfill leachate concentrate, is used as a solvent for the hydrogen peroxide. The oxygen carrier is fed and drained by gravity to the waste body. A registered amount of fluid is controlled using technical devices such as control valves and flow meters.
