Production of aqueous chlorine-oxygen solution, used for treating water, e.g. drinking water, or disinfecting swimming pool water, involves adding peroxide compound then aqueous chlorite solution to acidified hydrogen sulfate solution
Production of chlorite-free, stable aqueous chlorine-oxygen solution (I) comprises: (a) dissolving a hydrogen sulfate compound in water; (b) adding an acid to give a pH of 3-5 in the end product; (c) adding a peroxide compound; and (d) dripping an aqueous chlorite solution into this in an amount of 60-90 mole% with respect to the concentration of peroxide. An Independent claim is also included for the solution (I) produced in this way.
