Disclosed is a linear connector for connecting two mutually opposite ends of the hollow profiled slat (8) for the formation of a frame-like spacer for the production of insulating glass panes,with an upper side (2), with an underside (3) and with two side surfaces (4), which the upper side (2) and the underside (3) of the linear connector (1) connect. According to the invention, provided that, in a central region of the linear connector (1) a waist is provided, which is at least over the entire width of the upper side (2) or the underside (3) of the linear connector (1) extends.
