Protease comprising an amino acid sequence, which is an amino acid sequence specified in SEQ ID NO: 3 (comprising a fully defined 51-319 amino acid sequence given in the specification), or an amino acid sequence specified in SEQ ID NO: 2 (comprising a fully defined 51-319 amino acid sequence given in the specification), is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) a nucleic acid coding for a protease, comprising a nucleic acid sequence, which is identical to a nucleic acid sequence specified in SEQ ID NO: 1 (comprising a fully defined 51-319 amino acid sequence given in the specification) in a part of at least 300 contiguous nucleotides, a nucleic acid sequence, which is identical to the nucleic acid sequence specified in SEQ ID NO: 1 in the position of 277-1083 and a nucleic acid sequence, which is identical to the nucleic acid sequence specified in SEQ ID NO: 1; (2) a vector comprising a nucleic acid, preferably a cloning vector or an expression vector; (3) a non-human host cell comprising a nucleic acid or a vector, or a protease, preferably the protease secreted into the medium surrounding the host cell; (4) the preparation of the protease; (5) an agent, preferably a washing- or cleaning-agent, comprising at least one protease in an amount of 2 mu g to 20 mg, preferably 50 mu g to 10 mg per g of the agent, where the protease in the agent is encased with a substance impermeable at room temperature or in the absence of water for the protease; and (6) cleaning textiles or hard surfaces, comprising applying an agent in at least one step to the textiles or hard surfaces.
