The engine has a piston (1) axially moving in a cylinder (2) and connected with a swinging arm (4) by a connection rod (3). A free-wheel clutch (5) converts linear shearing force of the piston into rotational moment, where the swinging arm is connected with two cam profiles (6, 12) of cams (13) by a set of rollers (7, 8). The cam profiles control stroke motion of the piston, where the cams are arranged on a control shaft (11) that is driven by swinging motion of the swinging arm during an operation of the engine. The control shaft is engaged with an engine starting device.
