The method involves heating a fitted and/or deformed steel sheet (1') i.e. blank, at temperature ranging between 900-950 degrees using a heating device. The steel sheet is arranged for deformation and/or hardening of the steel sheet using a tool (3), where an intermediate tool having heating-, cooling- and/or insulating surfaces is formed between the heating device and the tool. Preset regions (B1-B4) of the steel sheet are differently tempered using the intermediate tool after heating and before deformation and/or hardening the steel sheet. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a steel sheet component.
