The device has a rectifier circuit (60) connected to a power system (40) delivering an alternating voltage and connected to a neutral point (N) of a rotor/stator assembly (30). A filtering unit (70) filters output voltage of the rectifier circuit. The filtering unit is connected to the neutral point of the rotor/stator assembly. A controlled step-up chopper circuit (80) is connected to a rechargeable direct voltage source (10) i.e. rechargeable battery, and to the filtering unit.
