The device has a belt pulley (2) mounted on an inner drive element (3), and a freewheel (6) including a number of clamping elements (19) arranged between a slideway (20) of the pulley and a slideway (21) of the drive element. A cage (22) is provided for the clamping elements. The freewheel is arranged to ensure unidirectional synchronization between the pulley and the drive element. The cage has a centering region (26) that cooperates with the former slideway by direct or indirect frictional contact, for radial centering of the cage relative to the drive element and the pulley.
