The tool has coupling units (4-6, 21) for coupling a body (20) with a manual gear shifter lever (2) in a determined position. A control unit (32) is pivotably mounted on the body, and includes a support part (34) placed in contact with a reference surface (18) of a fixed stop (17). A measurement sensor (35) detects an angular position of the control unit with respect to the body when the support part of the control unit is in contact with the reference surface of the fixed stop. The body comprising a bore (21) in which the control lever is longitudinally fixed.
