The device has a transmitter (11) mounted on a two-wheeler (12), and a receiver (13) placed on a vehicle (14). A lighting and/or sound device (15) warns a driver (16) of the vehicle. The transmitter emits an electromagnetic signal in a given frequency band when the two-wheeler is moved, so that the receiver is tuned to the frequency of the transmitter. The signal received by the receiver exceeds a threshold when the two-wheeler is located in an alert zone (17) of the vehicle. The lighting and/or sound device is triggered when the signal received by the receiver exceeds the threshold.
