Internal combustion engine i.e. diesel engine, controlling method for motor vehicle, involves calculating error between set point and actual value of thermodynamic parameter of combustion, and controlling engine based on error
The method involves acquiring a maximum deviation relative to difference between real pollutant emissions of an internal combustion engine and authorized maximum emissions. A setpoint value of a thermodynamic parameter of the combustion in the internal combustion engine is determined with respect to the maximum deviation. An actual value of the thermodynamic parameter of the combustion on the engine is measured. An error between the set point and the actual value of the thermodynamic parameter of the combustion is calculated, and the engine is controlled based on the error. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
