The injector (10) has an end nozzle (19) extending according to a longitudinal axis (A1) and including a lower row (14) and an upper row (15) of fuel spray orifices (14A, 15A) that are distributed around the axis at two different axial levels. An internal shuttering needle (12) and an external shuttering needle (13) are coaxial and respectively shutter the openings of the rows. The internal needle internally defines a fuel arrival conduit (18) in the nozzle. A control unit displaces the internal needle in an open release position of the openings of the lower row. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an internal combustion engine comprising an engine block (2) a method for controlling a fuel injector.
