A process analyzing apparatus 3 and program is disclosed which identifies processing attempts, between which a collision of updating attempts on a CMDB 2 occurs, by analysing a history of a process executed by each process execution apparatus 1a-d. The apparatus identifies update processes which were involved in an unsuccessful (collision) update in a configuration management database, by identifying, from history information, an update that related to the same target and occurred at a similar time as the unsuccessful update. The apparatus comprises an acquiring unit to acquire, from setting history information, process identification which is associated with an identified management target that is the same as a management target associated with an unsuccessful update, and is within a set time period of the unsuccessful update. The apparatus also comprises a failure-cause estimating unit which determines, from execution history information, processing corresponding to the acquired process identification that is the cause of the unsuccessful update. An operation management system including the process analysing apparatus 3, process execution apparatus 1a-d and information management apparatus 2 is also disclosed.
