PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulb growth promoter for liliaceae plant which effectively promotes growth of bulbs of liliaceae plant such as onion without spoiling biosynthesis of gibberellin, and to provide a method for promoting growth of bulbs of liliaceae plant.;SOLUTION: The method for promoting growth of bulbs of onion includes using miconazole which is a jasmonic acid biosynthesis-inhibiting agent. It was found from a culture medium test that the agent may be administrated so as to have a concentration of about 10 μM or more at either of application time or action time on a plant body, in order to obtain an effect to promote growth of bulbs of onion.
