PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter configured to have an output short-circuiting circuit wherein it is possible to achieve reliability enhancement and cost reduction.;SOLUTION: The power converter includes an inverter circuit 3 that has at least one switching element, converts a direct-current voltage into an alternating-current voltage, and outputs the alternating-current voltage to a pair of power supply lines, and the output short-circuiting circuit 4 having at least one switching element and short-circuiting the power supply lines. Each switching element provided individually in the inverter circuit 3 and the output short-circuiting circuit 4 has a source used as the potential reference point of a driving power supply for driving the switching elements.
