POLYMORPHISM OF EFFICACY AND SIDE EFFECT EXPRESSION OF IL-6 INHIBITOR TREATMENT AND USE THEREOF

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for examining whether the treatment of IL-6 to rheumatic patients is efficacious or inefficacious and whether a side effect is expressed or not, which includes the step of detecting variation present in the gene relevant to efficacy or inefficacy and to side effect expression of the treatment of IL-6 inhibitor to rheumatic patients and in the DNA of or near the gene. PSOLUTION: The inventors have analyzed SNPs in the whole genome relevant to efficacy and side effect expression of the IL-6 inhibitor treatment in the treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, focusing on determination on the efficacy and the side effect expression of the IL-6 inhibitor treatment. Polymorphisms relevant to the efficacy of IL-6 inhibitor treatment or the side effect expression in the patients of rheumatoid arthritis have been found by the use of the genome DNA of the patients under the IL-6 inhibitor treatment and the clinical information.
