PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head substitution module that encrypts information of a read card, using substitution key information, in order to protect information recorded in a magnetic medium of the card or the like, and to provide a settlement terminal device equipped with the magnetic head substitution module, and an information protection method for the card using the settlement terminal device. PSOLUTION: The magnetic head substitution module includes: a recording part 150 that stores the substitution key information, a head core part 110 equipped with a coil for reading the information recorded in the magnetic medium as analog information, a demodulation part 120 for demodulating the analog information read by the head core part 110, to digital information, a substitution control part 130 for substituting a sequence of the digital information demodulated by the demodulation part 120, using the substitution key information recorded in the recording part 150, and a head communication part 140 for transmitting digital substitution information substituted by the substitution control part 130.
