PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an amino sugar derivative having a 3,6-anhydro structure and/or an amino sugar derivative having a 2,3-dideoxy structure in a high production rate and in a high yield.;SOLUTION: This method for producing the amino sugar derivative includes heating an aqueous solution of N-acetylglucosamine and/or N-acetylmannosamine to obtain the amino sugar derivative having a 3,6-anhydro structure and/or the amino sugar derivative having a 2,3-dideoxy structure.
