PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently screening an agent for suppressing apocrine smell, and to provide a method for objectively, accurately and readily evaluating apocrine smell-generating ability.;SOLUTION: The method for screening the agent for suppressing the apocrine smell selects a test substance having the activities for suppressing the apocrine smell by detecting the generation of the causative substance of the apocrine smell by Corynebacterium tuberculostearicum by bringing the microorganism into contact with a precursor of the causative substance of the apocrine smell in the presence of the test substance.
