PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure countermeasure information derivation method allowing derivation of cause/countermeasure information of failure occurring in a system by acquiring latest failure information related to commercial software or open source software from a Web site and practically using a database wherein update timely continues based on the information. PSOLUTION: The cause/countermeasure information of the failure is derived with information obtained by state confirmation of the system 120 as an information-deriving keyword in reference to a site information DB 117 having failure information collected from the failure information Web site 122 and a cause candidate DB 116 having information about the Web site wherein information effective to cause investigation is disclosed in each category of the failure. When the information of the failure information Web site 122 is updated, contents of the database are kept in a latest state by updating the information registered in the site information DB 117 together.
