PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of a direct recording system which can suppress generation of toner contamination while a recording ON state voltage is decreased than before.;SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a phase A pulse voltage, and a switching driver 27Y for hopping the toner on a sleeve surface by loading the phase A pulse voltage on a plurality of hopping electrodes of a toner carrying sleeve 30Y, are provided. In addition, even when the hopping electrode under a condition that it is the same value as a pulse peak of a larger side on the electric charge polar side of the toner, is moved to a position facing a through-hole 14Y being a non-imaging hole accompanying sleeve rotation, on at least a partial region between the hopping electrodes and the through-hole 14Y, an electric potential between a pulse mean electric potential and a recording OFF state voltage is set to a value electrostatically formable an electric field for moving the toner toward the sleeve side from the hole side.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
