PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure safety of a servo system without replacing an encoder used in the servo system with an encoder having a safety function. PSOLUTION: A servo driver 4 sets an instruction value related to an operation of a servo motor 2 on the basis of an instruction signal from a controller 5. The servo driver 4 sends the instruction value and a feedback value obtained from a feedback signal to the safety unit 10. When at least one of the instruction value and the feedback value sent from the servo driver 4 is abnormal, an STO signal is generated and the STO signal is sent to the servo driver 4. When the STO signal is input to the servo driver 4, the servo driver 4 stops supply of electricity to the servo motor 2.
