PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device coping with an automated guided vehicle and an failure detecting method of the elevator device, coping even with control of a plurality of automated guided vehicles, while improving the protective monitoring function in the automated guided vehicle, by performing proper failure detection operation when failure is caused in an inlet-outlet to a car, in the automated guided vehicle using the elevator device.;SOLUTION: This elevator device E coping with the automated guided vehicle includes an automated guided vehicle control means 5 controlling operation of the automated guided vehicle 4, and an elevator control means 3 for controlling the car 1 to which the automated guided vehicle 4 gets on. The elevator control means 3 determines that the failure is caused in the automated guided vehicle 4 when a signal of indicating completion of the inlet to the car 1 of the automated guided vehicle 4 and a signal of indicting a car call of the automated guided vehicle 4, are not received in a predetermined time, when the automated guided vehicle 4 gets on the car 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
