PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation correcting circuit in which accurate gradation correction is conducted, even for a portion where the curvature of gradation characteristics is high, without increasing the circuit size, and to provide an image display device and an image processing method. PSOLUTION: The gradation correcting circuit is used for gradation correction of inputted image data, such as gamma correction and color correction, for example. In the circuit, gradation reference data groups, having a gradation number that is smaller than the gradation number of the inputted image data, are held and two adjacent gradation reference data are selected, based on the gradation value of the inputted image data. Moreover, a plurality of interpolated reference data groups, corresponding to the input gradation value are held, and one group among the plurality of interpolation reference data groups is selected, based on the gradation value of the inputted image data. Using the interpolation reference data selected, interpolation is conducted between the two gradation reference data, and an output gradation value is outputted. Since appropriate interpolation reference data group is selected according to the gradation value of the inputted image data and the interpolation processing is executed, accurate gradation correction can be performed.
