PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device or the like for working an intermediate end-closed deck plate capable of performing the intermediate end-closing work in one process.;SOLUTION: A die 12 consists of a lower die 14 having an uneven surface which is substantially matched with a lower surface shape of an intermediate end-closed shape, and an elevating/lowering upper die 17 having an uneven surface substantially matched with an upper surface shape of the intermediate end-closed shape. The lower die 14 is split into a fixed lower die 15 and a movable lower die 16. The upper die 17 is lowered by the operation of a press machine, and a longitudinal end of a deck plate 1 is squeezed to form an end-closed beam placement part at the position of the intermediate height between a ridge surface and a valley surface (the intermediate end-closing work). During that time, the movable lower die 16 is lowered while holding the deck plate 1.
