PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling a vehicle that approaches an intersection, to control the vehicle approaching an intersection by selecting a corresponding traffic light for the vehicle. PSOLUTION: The method for controlling a vehicle that approaches an intersection includes steps of: collecting traffic light information including positional coordinates of traffic lights installed at the intersection and signal cycles; selecting a corresponding traffic light among the traffic lights in consideration of the positional coordinates of the traffic lights and positional information of the vehicle approaching the intersection; and controlling the vehicle on the basis of the signal cycle of the selected traffic light.
