PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass fiber, capable of improving its CO₂ laser processability when used for the production of printed wiring boards, and to provide a glass composition for the glass fiber, used for the production of the glass fiber.;SOLUTION: The glass composition for the glass fiber contains, on the basis of the total number of mole of constituents, 55-60 mol% of SiO₂, 4-6 mol% of Al₂O₃, 5-9 mol% of B₂O₃, 12-20 mol% of CaO, 3-8 mol% of BaO, 3-6 mol% of ZnO, 1-3 mol% of Na₂O, 1-3 mol% of Li₂O and 0-1 mol% of K₂O, wherein the total mol% of Na₂O, Li₂O and K₂O is 2-5 mol% and the total mol% of Na₂O and Li₂O is at least 2 mol%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
