PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for generating an unequally spaced sampling image capable of restoring it into a clear image, and to reduce the amount of information on deformation parameters required for restoring the unequally spaced sampling image. PSOLUTION: An image deformation device 2, which calculates the deformation parameters (complexity) of an input image and generates a deformed image (unequally spaced sampling image), by sampling the input image at unequally spaces using the deformation parameters, includes an image analysis means 21, which analyzes which portion of the input image is of what level of complexity to calculate the complexity; a mapping generating means 23 which calculates the coordinates of a sampling point, based on the complexity from the image analysis means 21; and a sampling means 25 which samples the input image, in the sampling axis direction with the coordinates of the sampling point from the mapping generating means 23 and generates the unequally spaced sampling image.
