PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embossing apparatus capable of certainly forming a fine embossed surface on a sheet-like material, capable of setting the embossed pattern applied to the sheet-like material to a desired pattern as a result and capable of suppressing the occurrence of positional shifts between respective embossed shapes.;SOLUTION: The embossing apparatus for applying the embossed pattern to the continuously fed sheet-like material S is equipped with an embossing roll 10 and a plurality of receiving rolls 20, 21 and 22 provided so as to successively come into contact with the embossing roll 10 along the peripheral direction of the embossing roll 10. A plurality of the receiving rolls 20, 21 and 22 are separated into a first group wherein an outer peripheral surface is rigid and a second group wherein the outer peripheral surface is elastic. Coarse embossed surfaces and fine embossed surfaces having an embossed shape finer than that of the coarse embossed surfaces are provided to the outer periphery of the embossing roll 10 in a mixed state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
